Welcome to Greenfield Publishers. By accessing our website at greenfieldpublishers.com or engaging our publishing services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order, signing a service agreement, or using any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client," "Author," or "you") and Greenfield Publishers ("we," "us," or "our").

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active clients at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of our services after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Services Description

Greenfield Publishers provides professional book publishing services including, but not limited to:

  • Ghostwriting and manuscript development
  • Editing (developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading)
  • Book cover design and interior layout/formatting
  • ISBN assignment and barcode generation
  • Publishing and distribution (Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, and more)
  • Audiobook production and distribution
  • Book marketing, advertising, and promotional services

The specific scope, deliverables, and timeline for your project will be outlined in a detailed project proposal or service agreement provided before work begins.

3. Intellectual Property & Ownership

Your Work Belongs to You. You retain full, complete, and unconditional ownership of your manuscript, creative content, and intellectual property at all times. We do not claim any rights to your work. Ever.

Upon full payment for services rendered:

  • Copyright Ownership: You retain 100% copyright ownership of your manuscript, story, and all original content.
  • Source Files: You receive all source files, including InDesign files, layered cover designs, fonts, and formatting templates. You are never locked in.
  • ISBN Ownership: When you purchase an ISBN through us, it is registered in your name. You own it.
  • Royalties: You retain 100% of all royalties earned from book sales. We never take a percentage of your earnings.

We retain only the right to display completed book covers and project descriptions in our portfolio and marketing materials, unless you request otherwise in writing.

4. Payment Terms

Deposit and Milestones

  • 50% Upfront Deposit: Most projects require a 50% deposit before work begins. This deposit secures your spot in our production schedule.
  • Milestone Payments: Large projects (e.g., ghostwriting) are billed in milestone installments tied to specific deliverables (e.g., outline approval, chapter drafts, final manuscript).
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due before delivery of final files and publishing.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • PayPal
  • ACH bank transfer
  • Wire transfer (for international clients)

All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise specified. Quoted prices are honored for 30 days from the date of the proposal. After 30 days, pricing may be subject to adjustment.

5. Revision Policy

Each service includes a specified number of revision rounds to ensure your satisfaction:

  • Ghostwriting: Chapter-by-chapter review with 2 full rounds of revisions on the complete manuscript.
  • Editing: 1–2 rounds of revisions, depending on the editing level.
  • Cover Design: 2–3 initial concepts, followed by 2–3 rounds of revisions on your chosen design.
  • Interior Formatting: 1 round of revisions after initial layout delivery.
  • Marketing Materials: 2 rounds of revisions on all deliverables.

Additional revisions beyond the included rounds may incur additional fees, which will be communicated and approved by you in advance before any extra work begins.

6. Cancellation & Refunds

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all services. If you are not satisfied within the first 30 days of your project, we will provide a full refund for any work not yet completed, no questions asked.

Prorated Refunds After 30 Days

After the initial 30-day period, refunds are prorated based on the work completed:

  • You pay only for the phases and deliverables that have been completed
  • Any unused balance from your deposit is refunded
  • You receive all work completed to date upon cancellation

7. Confidentiality

Non-Disclosure Agreement

We treat every project with the utmost confidentiality:

  • All team members, editors, ghostwriters, and contractors sign comprehensive non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) before accessing any client materials.
  • We will never share, publish, or disclose your manuscript, ideas, or project details without your explicit written consent.
  • For ghostwriting projects, we will never reveal our involvement unless you authorize us to do so.

Manuscript Security

  • All manuscripts are stored on encrypted, access-controlled servers
  • Files are transmitted via secure, encrypted channels only
  • Client materials are permanently deleted from our systems within 90 days of project completion, upon your request

8. Limitation of Liability

Greenfield Publishers provides professional publishing services with the highest standards of quality. However, we cannot guarantee:

  • Commercial success, specific sales volumes, or bestseller rankings
  • Acceptance by specific retailers, reviewers, or literary awards
  • Specific review scores or critical reception
  • Return on investment from marketing campaigns

Our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the total amount you paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits or lost opportunities.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

10. Dispute Resolution

We believe in resolving disputes fairly and efficiently:

  1. Informal Resolution: Contact us first. Most issues can be resolved through open communication within 5 business days.
  2. Mediation: If informal resolution fails, both parties agree to participate in good-faith mediation conducted by a mutually agreed-upon mediator in Los Angeles County, CA.
  3. Arbitration: If mediation does not resolve the dispute, it shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Los Angeles County, CA.
  4. Legal Proceedings: Either party retains the right to seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
